MMTD80 (80 sample thermal demagnetizer). This advanced microprocessor
controlled thermal demagnetizer offers the following unique set of features:
- Simple but sophisticated programmable
Heat/Hold/Cool cycle, no need to manually move samples from a heating
to a cooling chamber.
- Internal calibrated solenoid for creating TRM s. Ideal for ‘double heating’ Thellier experiments.
- 4 layer Mu-metal shields closed at ends with automatic degaussing and our
special electronic activation to improve performance. Samples
always in a field <10nT (typically <3nT) during heating
and cooling.
- Any orientation,
because the shields are closed at one end the oven it can have a
north/south or east west orientation, the field remains low.
- Fast cycle, 80
samples to 500oC, 25 min hold at 500oC, cool to 40oC
in less than 80 minutes, that's an average processing speed of
one sample every 60 seconds, fast enough to keep up with any magnetometer.
- Non-magnetic and accurate thermocouples, we do not use K type thermocouples as these can
become inaccurate with age.
- Ultra low thermal gradients, Maximum deviation 6oC at 500oC over full load of 80 samples, 4oC over central 40 samples.

maximum temperature 800oC.

- Robust ceramic
oven element and virtually unbreakable non-magnetic sample holder for
long trouble free operation. Built in radiation shields for ultra low
thermal gradients.
- Controlled atmosphere sample holders supplied as standard (vacuum or
inert gas).
- Optional extra MMTDVP 2 stage vacuum pump and
fittings.
- Optional extra MMCCPSU constant current power
supply for Thellier experiments, field
on during both heating and cooling.
- 110 or 220V, no
additional transformer required. Specify mains voltage when ordering.
- Battery backup, If
mains electricity fails the system remembers the programme sequence and
the programme continues once power is restored.
- Safety Features,
no power to oven element when samples are inserted/removed,
Software over temperature trip isolates oven and cools, mechanical over
temperature trip cuts power to oven. Second 'policeman' controller
monitors oven and cuts power if all other systems fail.
